The Chinese Consulate General in Khabarovsk confirmed to Global Times on Wednesday that the identity of the Chinese national killed in the July 24 crash of an Antonov An-24 passenger plane in Russia's Amur Oblast has been verified, and the consulate has contacted the victim's family.
The consulate said that it will continue to maintain close communication with both the bereaved family and relevant Russian authorities to handle all related matters appropriately.
A passenger aircraft has lost contact in Russia's Far Eastern Amur Oblast, local emergency services reported on July 24. The missing aircraft, an Antonov An-24, is operated by Angara Airlines. There were 43 passengers on board, along with six crew members, according to Amur Oblast Governor Vasily Orlov, Xinhua News Agency reported.
